About us

Chef Patty Lawlertratana was born in Thailand. She graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture in Industrial Design degree from Khon Kaen University. Afterward, Chef Patty came to the United States from Bangkok, Thailand, and gained an immediate interest in the country’s diverse populace and engaging culture.

She began to learn English and worked many jobs in the food service industry. Her experience in these positions inspired her to try making dishes of her own. She enjoys making Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese foods, as her diverse family heritage spans across the three cultures and were the types of foods she enjoyed while growing up.

What started as a simple hobby suddenly became a new passion that Chef Patty wanted to pursue further by becoming a student at one of the world’s most well-known culinary institutions, Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Atlanta

The college’s curriculum was challenging and keeping up with her peers at times was difficult due to English only being her second language. But even against these opposing odds, Chef Patty was determined and her will power to succeed ultimately lead her to graduate summa cum laude with first honors at the top of her class. During her time at the institution, she went to France as part of an externship program where she was given the extraordinary opportunities to assist with preparing sophisticated dishes at Michelin Star Restaurant Le Restaurant Thalasso La Grande Motte which located in four star Hotel les Corallines in Montpellier, France, as well as taking part in an apprenticeship where she received firsthand culinary lessons from Michelin star Chef Armand, the owner of Le Jardin Des Pâtés Restaurant.

With her newly obtained knowledge of the culinary arts from her time at Le Cordon Bleu and her experience working in the food service industry, Chef Patty had the unwavering desire to take her career a step further by running a restaurant of her very own. Chef Patty understands the high expectations that Bangkok Thai Restaurant has set for itself by providing traditional Thai dishes that the people have enjoyed for decades. By putting emphasis on form, texture, and preparation using the freshest ingredients, Bangkok Thai ensures that each dish emanates with a delightful presentation and an exquisite assortment of unique flavors.

Both her and her staff have dedicated themselves to continue to bring the wonderful dishes of the Thai heritage to all customers to appreciate and enjoy, while upholding the restaurant’s strong legacy as a provider of quality Thai cuisine
